What is NCYOUTH?

The game naturally builds coordination, confidence, and cardiovascular fitness—but what truly sets Ultimate apart is its commitment to character. Because players make and resolve their own calls, the sport develops emotional regulation, communication skills, and genuine respect for others. Joy, inclusiveness, and self-worth aren’t just the values we believe in—they’re woven into how the game itself is played.

Nickel City Ultimate is a Buffalo-based nonprofit dedicated to growing the sport of Ultimate Frisbee in our community. NCYOUTH is our youth development program, dedicated to sharing the joy of Ultimate Frisbee with students from elementary school through high school. Ultimate is one of the most accessible and uniquely empowering sports available: all you need is a disc and some open space, and kids of every background can jump right in!

Looking ahead, NCU aims to expand our current offerings into youth leagues, camps, and travel teams. We’re thrilled for the opportunity to introduce the sport of ultimate to the next generation!

The U.S. Center for SafeSport was created to address the issue of abuse in sport. The Center works with National Governing Bodies, including Nickel City Ultimate, to enforce the SafeSport Code and the Federal Safe Sport Act. The policies in both the Code and Federal Law are aimed at protecting athletes from harm and abuse and apply to all Olympic and amateur sporting disciplines. Nickel City Ultimate strives to provide a safe environment in which athletes can train and compete, free from abuse and inappropriate behavior. Please review the SafeSport Code and the Minor Athlete Abuse Prevention Policies information and join us in sustaining a culture of safety. We all are part of promoting a culture of safety through education, listening and speaking up.

All of our youth coaches and leaders are required to pass a SafeSport certification course and pass a background check
